I’m pleased to say that it’s finally time for our Spring Opener! (Sorry for the radio silence up until now; I was out of the country for the second half of April.) It will be on Wednesday, May 20th beginning at 8:00pm.

Spring is a temperamental season, and last year despite even sunny forecasts it seemed to rain before pretty much every planned smoker. If the forecast calls for rain or it’s too cold then I will reschedule the event. Please check this website and/or our Facebook page before you head out.
Great news, everyone: a member — Shane — has generously offered to host a pipe club meeting this month at his place! (Trivia: Shane attended the very first meeting of the DTPC on November 28, 2006. There were three of us. Bonus points to anyone who can guess who the other fellow was!)

The DTPC smoking season officially closed up with our September Smoker! It was nice to see such a big crowd — and we were certainly lucky with the weather: I think it was nicer and warmer than our meetings in July or August.
Mike Parks was kind enough to make the trek up from Bowmanville to present one of the raffle pipes to Jack DePoe. Below are some pictures of the pipes in their early stages:
