A whole lot of pipe smokers descended into Bowmanville for a smoke and food-filled event. We started the morning with coffee, traded pipes and tobacco, chatted, and listened to pipe maker Michael Parks talk about some past projects and the art and craftsmanship of pipe making.
A highlight was several of us trying our hand at sandblasting three pipes that were donated and raffled off. Mike will be finishing them off — including staining and stamping — and presenting them at our next smoker.
Thanks to everyone who came out, and especially the Lakeshore Smokestacks for all their work in helping to make this happen. Also a big thanks to Kevin and Julian from Victory Cigars and Mike Gluckler of Briar Blues who provided some great items towards the raffle!
